The kettle has only just begun to murmur when the first little visitor appears by the lavender jug. Soon there are six: one dressed for the garden, one carrying a teacup, and another with a bright slice of lime balanced like a hat. Among the biscuit crumbs and well-loved china, The Pantry Visitors have made an ordinary afternoon feel rather special.
